55 Flash Fiction Friday: I Know Why

"I know why they go back ", she said sadly. "People tell you to leave and you do. They say they will help and they don't. Friends say they will be there and they aren't." "Are you ok?", the friend asked. "I struggle constantly. I don't want to go back. But everyday I'm afraid I will."

55 Flash Fiction Friday: It Was The Scariest Of Times

Looking at her friend with concern she said, "Are you OK?" Shuddering violently her friend answered, "I've never seen anything like it." "It was that bad?" "Yes. It really was. I didn't know preschoolers behaved like that at birthday parties." "No party next year then?" her friend asked. "It was scary... but totally worth it."

55 Flash Fiction Friday: Time Out

Frustrated at inexcusable behavior and angry looks the mom said, "That's it young lady. You are going in time out." "No!", screamed the almost three year old. "You bad! You go time out!" Fighting a smile the mom kept a straight face. You had to admire her fighting spirit even if her behavior was awful.

55 Flash Fiction Friday: The Old Fashioned Way

We looked at each other feeling hot under the collar. "I'm sorry," I said. I knew what I had to do. "It looks like your sister got both of us," I said reaching in the drawer. "I'm going to have to do this the old fashioned way." "Waaahhhhhhh!" she cried as her temperature was taken.

Theme Thursday: Brush

Everyday you run and scream,
looking at me like I am mean.

I just want to help you out,
not hear you yell and shout.

My heart racing running after you,
everyday our torture starts anew.

Little girl can you please cut me a break,
let me brush your hair for goodness sake.
